ABOUT THE PRACTITIONERS


Kevin James Gardner Singleton, AMT, M.Sc.TCM, Dipl.Ac., Dipl.C.H., is a graduate of the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco, California. He is nationally board certified in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). He also holds a degree in Chemistry (B.Sc.), and advanced certifications (as both practitioner and instructor) in various massage & bodywork therapies. Since 1993, Mr Singleton has been deeply involved in the study and practice of natural Asian therapies and Chinese medicine. He has successfully treated hundreds of patients with a wide range of complaints by applying a variety of safe, nontoxic healing methods producing effective healing results. He uses acupuncture, moxibustion (heat therapy), gua-sha (friction therapy), Chinese herbal medicine, yoga, qigong, acupressure, massage therapy & Nuad Bo Rarn (Thai Yoga bodywork) in his practice.

Asian Healing Spa, co-directed by Harry Sofras and Megumi Matsumura,
is a Greek day spa & salon located in central Athens offering an indulgent combination of Oriental bodywork treatments: aromatherapy, Jacuzzi with herbal treatments, Chi Nei Tsang, herbal packs, reflexology and Thai massage. The spa also offers professional-level instruction, training and certification programs in Asian therapeutic massage styles, acupuncture and qigong.

Harry Sofras was born in 1972, and grew up in Athens, Greece. In 1983, he began the study of Tai Nui Kung Fu, Yoga and meditation, and by 1989, Harry was an instructor for three years at Tai Nui Kung Fu School. In 1992, he began to focus on intense training with Master Mantak Chia (Microcosmic Orbit, Inner Smile, Six Healing Sounds, Iron Shirt, Cosmic Healing-I and II, Chi Nei-I and II, Chi Self Massage, Healing Love). Then in 1996, Harry studied angiography, and started visiting Greek orthodox monasteries, continuing to deepen his study and practice of meditation. His first contact with Thai Traditional Massage came with his trip to Thailand in 1999, and from that experience, he eventually became a qualified teacher of Thai Traditional Massage and Foot Reflexology, as well as an authorized instructor in the Universal Tao System in 2002. Harry is a particularly gifted practitioner of the healing arts, and from 2002-3, he worked professionally at the Thai Traditional Massage Association Japan in Tokyo as a teacher and therapist.

Megumi Matsumura was born and raised in Japan. During her childhood, she developed an interest in exercise, Yoga, Qigong and Tai Chi. She also has a focus in healthy, therapeutic diets. Her previous work experience has included supervision of a service department, while her educational background includes studies at the Kansai Foreign Language University. After graduation, she began to concentrate on holistic therapies and has studied Thai Traditional Massage at the Wat Po Traditional Medical School in Bangkok, and in Chiang Mai at The School of Thai Massage The Old Medicine Hospital, ITM, Nerve Touch and also from other masters of massage, such as Master Mantak Chia, with whom she studied Chi Nei Tsang (abdominal massage to detoxify internal organs) in Thailand. For a long time now, she has continued to give seminars on traditional Thai Massage and Self-massage in Japan. Megumi has written articles on Thai Massage and Self-massage for such high-profile magazines as BAZZAR, ELLE, VOGUE, and Wai Wai Thailand, and she has also released a Thai Massage video (‘This is Thai Traditional Massage‘), available in Thailand. Due to her outstanding qualifications, experience, and talents as a Thai Massage and foot massage therapist, she has been the head teacher at the Thai Traditional Massage Association Japan in Tokyo. Her exceptional qualifications and generous nature has made Megumi Matsumura among the most famous teachers in all of Japan.
