Program Overview and Cost

"Your stop smoking program was the key to my success...

I had tried every means necessary to quit. The patch was too addictive; cold turkey was too irritating, and hypnosis too expensive. Mr. Singleton gave me all the necessary tools to guide me through the process. The acupuncture treatments were easy and no trouble at all. I found myself actually looking forward to the relaxing sensation that it provided me. The herbal supplements were also very helpful, and he even assigned me more after my stop smoking treatments were completed. I feel calm and collected now, and barely remember my old smoking habits.
Thank you!"

You Can Also Quit Smoking with Acupuncture

There are many factors that influence whether a tobacco user is able to quit the habit. This program has been well-researched and designed to address the most significant factors which have been proven effective at stopping smoking. In fact, the particular protocol we use has helped many people around the country to quit smoking successfully over the years. This program is suitable for all types of tobacco addictions: smoking and ingesting it orally. Your treatments will be tailored to your needs using Acupuncture and herbs based on your health history and symptoms. There are no negative side-effects associated with acupuncture and no conflicts with other medication you may be taking.

"How Does Acupuncture Help to Stop Using Tobacco?" The largest stumbling blocks to becoming smoke-free are the stress, anxiety, and depression associated with quitting. Fortunately, according to recent clinical research, acupuncture treatment is quite successful at releasing endorphins into the bloodstream, calming and relaxing the mind, reducing anxiety, and alleviating depressive feelings. This is accomplished by using specific acupoints in the ear and body.

Tobacco is used as a stimulant for some and a relaxant for others. Acupuncture can also have a stimulating effect by circulating vital energy in a healthy way without using nicotine or becoming addictive. Acupuncture can make withdrawal easier by reducing cravings for tobacco, and making the taste of cigarettes intolerable. According to clinical studies, acupuncture is 42% more effective at stopping smoking over six months than the nicotine transdermal patch or nicotine gum.

The Treatment - After five tiny needles are inserted into the outer part of the ear, and several at specific points on the body, a mild electrical stimulation (when requested) between the points will allow you to relax for about 30 minutes. You will probably experience a peaceful, even euphoric feeling due to the release of endorphins, the body's natural opiates or "pain killers." Additional acupoints may be included that help suppress your appetite, stimulate repair and healing of organ systems, and reduce food and nicotine cravings.

Take-home AcuPatches
After the needles are removed, tiny ear seeds/magnetic balls (for sensitive ears) or "press tacks" (for stronger stimulation) are placed on the ear to continue the stimulation between office visits. These "take-homes" are covered with tape and attached to specific ear reflex points controlling nerves, appetite, metabolism, and the hormone balance.

When the patient feels an urge to smoke, s/he applies mild pressure to the point or rubs it back and forth for about 20 seconds. This type of acupressure stimulates the point, causes a mild endorphin release, relaxes the patient, and helps them to regain their willpower or resolve about resisting the cravings to smoke.

Press tacks must be replaced periodically, and the ears cleaned to avoid irritation and discomfort. The patient removes the tacks at home after three days, and throws them away or takes them out sooner if there is any irritation or discomfort.

Herbs Are Important Remedy To Aid Detoxification / Alleviate Stress

The acupuncturist will prescribe an herbal formula for you which will be specific to your needs. Chinese herbs will help ease your stress and support the detoxification process. The herbs are in pill or capsule form and easy to take. Acupuncture and Oriental herbs can provide a safe, natural, drug-free, and effective way to quit smoking.

More Than Just Kicking The Habit

Using acupuncture to quit smoking yields enormous benefits to your health. Aside from taking care of the stumbling blocks that can cause you to resume smoking, acupuncture can alleviate symptoms such as coughing, insomnia and digestive troubles. Acupuncture helps restore your body to a healthy state of balance and well-being.

The focus is upon achieving a balance of body and mind while eliminating cravings so you can become smoke-free and healthier at the same time. If you are ready to become smoke-free, acupuncture can provide you with the support you need.
